Like the title says, the Obsidian butter has a strong scent which I was thrown off by at first. It is very strong, but after about a week or two I started to like it. I was able to break down the different aromas in the butter and I began respecting the strong scent for what it was. The butter was very hydrating from day one though. No problems on in that respect. Would I buy it again? Well, we'll just have to see if I keep liking the scent more and more. In a couple more weeks, it might be my favorite.

The stripping wash works wonderfully to get any sort of leftover fragrance oils out of my beard. Definitely follow the directions and condition afterwards, your beard will be devoid of any and all oils. Also good at cleaning beard combs!

Good blend the scent is not for me its its not good gingerbread scent more of just a cookie scent

One reviewer said it was a little strong, but to me it was the opposite. I think it’s a little weak, not bold at all but I do like it. Sweet, smooth delicate and pleasant comes to mind when I smell it. I think it’s even with agave tides, not better or worse. I like that it doesn’t smell to much like cologne like Refine does. I have one or two oils from other companies, but I have eight oils from Deadman’s, what does that tell you. Supernova and Crimson Eclipse are my favorites, they’re on another level. When and if Crimson comes out again, I’ll be stocking up on that stuff plus they’re up there in New York, my old stomping grounds. I used to live in Altamont. Blessings, Scott

This scent right out of the bottle and on to the beard is an explosion of bright fruity/citrus notes. There is a such an elegance to it because of the spices that also are in there. It's great for a great crisp spring day, but as I write this it is a crisp autumn day and it holds for multiple seasons. I love this scent. If you're a newcomer and are looking for variety, and are looking for a bright long lasting scent, pick this one up. But not just the oil, grab the butter and cologne as well. Because these products are the pinnacle.

When I first opened the bottle, that warning label doesn't lie, it is a strong pungent smell that for first time users like myself, can be off putting. HOWEVER, once you allow the scent itself to settle into the beard, it lives up to the mystical and mysterious description. It is a something that I really got used to and something beard enthusiasts should experience. A very unique scent. And, what is most important is the way the oil and butter feel in the beard. Deadman's has been my go to and only company I have used this company solely for just over a year now. Do yourself a favor and give it a try before it is gone!
