The Answer: Every Other Day (With a Caveat)
For most guys with a beard of half an inch or more, the recommendation for Beard Conditioner is every other day — applied in the shower, right after washing. That's the baseline. But there's no universal law here, and the right answer depends on your beard and what works for you.
When Should You Start Using Conditioner?
You don't need beard conditioner from day one. The guideline is simple: if you can pinch and pull the hair, you have enough beard to start conditioning. That's roughly a half inch of growth or more. If you're still in the stubble phase or maintain a very short beard, conditioner isn't really designed for that length — it won't do much for you yet.
Once you hit that half-inch mark, bring in conditioner every other day.
The Recommended Routine
Every day: Wash your beard with Deadman's Gentle Daily Beard Wash in the shower.
Every other day: Follow the wash with Beard Conditioner. Apply to a damp beard after washing, work it through, let it sit for a minute or two, then rinse.
On the days you skip conditioner: Just wash. Your beard doesn't need conditioner every single day — washing daily and conditioning every other day is the balanced approach.
What About Using Conditioner Daily?
Some people do condition daily and have perfectly healthy beards. If your beard feels like it needs that extra moisture every day, or if your beard is particularly long and dry, daily use is fine. Listen to your beard. The "every other day" recommendation is a strong starting point backed by experience, but it's not a hard rule — adjust based on what you see and feel.
The Bottom Line
Based on experience and community feedback: condition after wash, every other day, once your beard is long enough to pinch. It keeps your beard soft, tangle-free, and manageable without over-conditioning. Adjust from there based on your beard's needs.
